WOW! I hadn't realized how much time had passed since my last posting. And I had wanted to post every day while I was on this program! If it's any consolation, I didn't journal every day either, oh well. Probably because I've had so much energy and felt so well that I got involved in many other things.
This 21-day cleanse program is wonderful. I have stayed true to it in spite of going out to dinners and luncheons and the rewards have been tremendous. I've lost about 11 nasty pounds that will make slipping into my bathing suit a lot easier. I feel very mentally clear and focused, I sleep like a log and DON'T wake up (till the cat starts bugging me around 5 am, but that's just a fact of life when you have a well-fed cat).
However, at Day 17 I began to feel a little tired and drained. After all, the only protein I've had is in the smoothie drink that I have twice a day. And I am getting a little burned out on having the same fruits and veggies every day. There is some variety in the fruits and veggies but frankly, it's getting a little boring after 19 days! That being said, I'm really beginning to think about how I will eat post-cleanse. It would be insane to undo all my disciplined work! In that sense, the cleanse will end, but the food program I want to have to stay healthy will just be beginning on Day 21. Later!

Day 12 of My 21-Day Cleanse
Hard to believe that I haven't posted for over a week now. I am still remaining faithful to my 21-day cleanse, have had many temptations, but I'm staying strong. I've actually dined out with friends and managed to have only vegetables that were on the list. The desire to fit into my "skinny" jeans has superseded the desire for cheesecake, or pizza, or even a luscious platter of chicken enchiladas that my friend cooked for dinner yesterday evening! (Don't feel too sorry for me; I took some home and froze them for a post-cleanse reward!)
The cleanse is still easy: I don't feel wasted, or drained, or woozy, or shaky. In fact my energy levels are just as high if not higher than usual. It's all very, very good.
Let's not forget the best part of all - so far I've lost 8 pounds! Can't wait to see how I look and feel when it's over on June 17th. I'll keep you posted.

Detox Program Day 5 - amazing!
It's nearing the end of Day 5 of my 21-day detox program. I don't usually use all caps because it seems exaggerated, but I just have to say I DON'T BELIEVE HOW EASY THIS DETOX DIET IS!
I have yet to get a craving, feel hungry or start fantasizing about a nice thick slice of pizza (hallucinating is a better word, in viedw of prior detoxes where I could just about touch and taste the forbidden foods I was dreaming about).
More amazingly, I AM NEVER HUNGRY. I have a protein shake in the morning, which contains 2 spoonfuls of a complete protein and nutrient powder, pure water, a cupful of banana and strawberries, and a tablespoon of flax oil. I have not had any solid food before 2 PM every day this week, and that is because a) I am not hungry, and b) I am not thinking about food at all!
Over the first 5 days I have eaten a fraction of what I normally eat, and it has all been wholesome, nutritious and either steamed or raw. I did have some "detox" symptoms yesterday and today, of traveling back aches and some soreness in my lower back (a gall bladder reflex, meaning that my liver is getting the message to detox!) I could have also strained by back the other day by packing and lifting detox pads, but there's no way to be sure if this is simply "detox" discomfort or a real back strain.
Anyway, Day 5 is over and I'm feeling fabulous! More to come ...
